2016 JCPB Calendar Contest
The Johnson City Power Board (JCPB) is hosting a 2016 Calendar Contest for fourth graders currently enrolled in public schools, private schools, and homeschooling programs in the Power Board’s service territory. All submissions received by September 25, 2015 will be judged by Power Board staff, and the top twelve pictures selected will be featured in a 2016 calendar to be printed and distributed within our community. This competition is in the spirit of our annual celebration of Public Power Week which is a week set aside by our Nation’s publicly owned electric utilities to recognize the benefits of living within their systems. As such, the theme of this calendar will be “Energy Conservation” and will feature drawings by our local students showing off their understanding of how to conserve electricity. Pictures will be judged on creativity, quality, relevance to theme, and overall appeal. The winning artists and school will be announced during our recognition of Public Power Week 2015 (October 5-9, 2015).
As an additional incentive for participation, JCPB will award the following:
• Each of the twelve winners will receive an individual prize from JCPB and a set of calendars!
• The teachers who administer the JCPB Calendar Contest from the winning school will also receive special prize packs and calendars!
• The school boasting the greatest number of calendar contest winners will receive a Rita’s Italian Ice party for the entire fourth grade!
The winning artists and school will be announced during our recognition of Public Power Week 2015 (on October 5-9, 2015). We are very excited about this contest and hope that your students will be, too.
