JCPB employees are not only dedicated to serving you the electricity you need, but we are dedicated to serving our community through volunteering, community service, and special events. Our Volunteer Committee consists of a group of employees representing each department at JCPB.
The JCPB Volunteer Committee is responsible for reviewing requests for assistance from local charities. Since being formed in 2004, the Committee has held silent auctions, raffles, bake sales, luncheons and developed a company cookbook to raise funds. One hundred percent of these funds have been used to purchase Christmas gifts and warm clothes for underprivileged children, host children’s Christmas parties, assist with Special Olympics and make donations to our local United Way. Under the leadership of the Volunteer Committee, JCPB employees also participated in the 2007 and 2008 Dragon Boat Festival to raise money for the Mountain States Health Alliance Niswonger Children’s Hospital, did a wiring project at the Coalition for Kids, painted lines on the Boys Scout parking lot, held a party for Adult Day Services, passed out candy at the Christmas parades and even chopped and delivered twelve loads of firewood to the Johnson City Good Samaritan agency to be distributed to low income families using wood for heat. JCPB employees are always willing to do their part when it comes to assisting the needs of others in our community. For more information contact HR at 423-952-5162 or email.
